About the site
The Ag-Press.eu e-platform is managed by the European Commission, Directorate General for Agriculture and Rural Development. It aims at providing journalists and professional communicators easy access to relevant documents and useful information on agricultural issues stemming from the European Institutions and beyond.
As its members are invited to upload and share stories, articles and questions under the MEMBERS' CORNER section, the European Commission cannot be held responsible for the entire content of the platform.
The personal data provided when registering are kept by the European Commission and the service provider hosting the e-platform.
Some of these data (pictures; e-mail; first name; last name; mobile phone number, if so chosen; media organisation; position held; media organisation name, website and Country; type of media, coverage, number of readers / visitors / viewers / listeners of the media, areas of interest; personal twitter profile) are shared with Ag-Press.eu members only. Other data, used to allow your participation to the events organised and to grant your access to the EU institutions' buildings (date of birth, nationality, city of departure, type of identification document, related number and expiry date, dietary needs) are private and only shown to you, the Ag-Press team, the EU institutions security services, and the travel agency, as appropriate.
The data collected and shared will serve to facilitate collaboration and contacts among the Ag-Press.eu members, and to create a mailing list whom the European Commission may send news and information to. This list will not be published.
The European Commission and the service provider hosting the e-platform will not share data with third parties for direct marketing.
Once you have registered, you will receive a password which will grant you access to the different services of the platform.
You may always change your personal information or delete your account altogether. Your personal information will remain in the database until you decide to close your account.
The Commission collects and further processes personal data pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2018/1725 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 October 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data by the Union institutions, bodies, offices and agencies and on the free movement of such data (repealing Regulation (EC) No 45/2001).

Inappropriate content by a user
You must not use the e-platform in any way that causes, or may cause, damage to the e-platform or impairment of the availability or accessibility of the e-platform; or in any unlawful, illegal, fraudulent or harmful way, or in connection with any unlawful, illegal, fraudulent or harmful purpose or activity.
You must not use this website to copy, store, host, transmit, send, use, publish or distribute any material which consists of (or is linked to) any spyware, computer virus, trojan horse, worm, keystroke logger, rootkit or other malicious computer software.
You must not conduct any systematic or automated data collection activities (including without limitation scraping, data mining, data extraction and data harvesting) on or in relation to the e-platform without the express written consent of the European Commission.
The following are deemed to constitute inappropriate content. Posting such content may result in account suspension or banning, as well as the removal of the offending posts:
- Posts or images of a defamatory, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane or threatening nature. This includes any messages or material ethnically, racially, religiously or sexually offensive, insulting or demeaning;
- Posts or images that violate any laws or regulations;
- Explicit advertising of products or services without our prior consent;
- Registering to solely post/endorse/promote for your own personal gain;
- Discussion of illegal activities such as software and movie piracy and other intellectual property infringement;
- Posting your or other people's personal contact information (i.e. telephone numbers, addresses etc) on any publicly viewable forums;
- Misuse of personal data found under "members" or "contacts", such as spamming, selling data to third parties, etc.;
- Links to any of the above or anything else deemed inappropriate by the European Commission.
Without prejudice to any other rights of the European Commission under these terms, if you breach these terms in any way, the European Commission may take such action as it deems appropriate to deal with the breach, including suspending your access to the website; prohibiting you from accessing the website, blocking computers using your IP address from accessing the website, contacting your internet service provider to request that they block your access to the website and/or bringing court proceedings against you.
